About Department of Public Safety/University of New Orleans Police
The Department of Public Safety/University of New Orleans Police is staffed 24 hours a day to meet the needs of the 澳门澳娱乐平台入口 community. The Department of Public Safety/University of New Orleans Police coordinates all requests for assistance relative to crime, including threats, 盗窃, personal safety, medical emergencies, 骚扰, 火, vehicular mishaps, catastrophic weather emergencies, domestic disturbances, and other police-related matters. The Department of Public Safety/University of New Orleans Police works collaboratively with the Environmental Health and 安全办公室 to support campus security and safety.
As Law Enforcement Officers, the mission is to uphold and enforce appropriate Federal, 状态, and local laws as well as University-imposed rules and regulations. As Peace Officers, the responsibilities include preserving the peace at the University and instituting police 程序 that ensure that order is maintained as the University undertakes its mission.
University Police have jurisdiction over all University facilities, premises, and property. The Department of Public Safety/University of New Orleans Police receives its police authority through Louisiana Revised Statute 17:1805.
